EUROCONTROL OFFICE

Following accession to the Eurocontrol Organisation in 1989, billing and collection services of route charges are being performed by this organisation on our behalf. Our Unit is responsible for; extraction of flight data in accordance with the Eurocontrol principles; the transmission to Eurocontrol of data relating to flights performed in our airspace; the recording of these flight data on an electronical format adapted by all member states and; follow-up of all operational and techical issues which might arise after the transmission of these flight data.

Furthermore, our unit establishes the forecast and actual national cost-base to be reported to Eurocontrol every year and works in line with the route charges system. The national cost-base, established in order to account for the costs of air navigation services, is being reported to Eurocontrol. Following this procedure, national unit rates are calculated by dividing the national cost-base into the number of national services units of a state and this national unit rate forms one of the basic parameters used to charge the flights operated within our FIR. Follow- up of operational and technical issues in this field are again performed by our unit.
